ATX.DEV Code of Conduct
ATX.DEV is dedicated to providing a harassment-free, inclusive, and respectful conference experience for everyone.
All attendees, speakers, sponsors, volunteers, and staff are required to agree with this Code of Conduct. Organizers will enforce this code throughout the event, and we expect cooperation from all participants to help ensure a safe environment for everybody.
Scope
This Code of Conduct applies to all official ATX.DEV spaces and communications, including (but not limited to):
- The conference venue(s) and session rooms
- Workshops, social events, hallway track, and sponsor areas
- Event-adjacent spaces where you are representing ATX.DEV (badge/role)
- Online spaces used by the event (e.g., event app, chat, livestream, social channels)
The Quick Version
ATX.DEV is dedicated to providing a harassment-free conference experience for everyone, regardless of gender, gender identity and expression, age, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, ethnicity, religion (or lack thereof), or technology choices.
We do not tolerate harassment of conference participants in any form. Sexual language and imagery is not appropriate for any conference venue, including talks, workshops, parties, and online media.
Conference participants violating these rules may be sanctioned or expelled from the conference without a refund at the discretion of the conference organizers.
The Less Quick Version
Harassment includes (but is not limited to):
- Offensive verbal comments related to gender, gender identity and expression, age, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, ethnicity, religion, or technology choices
- Sexual images in public spaces
- Deliberate intimidation, stalking, or following
- Harassing photography or recording
- Sustained disruption of talks or other events
- Inappropriate physical contact
- Unwelcome sexual attention
Participants asked to stop any harassing behavior are expected to comply immediately.
Sponsors & Exhibitors
Sponsors, exhibitors, and booth staff are also subject to this anti-harassment policy. In particular:
- Sponsors should not use sexualized images, activities, or other material
- Booth staff (including volunteers) should not use sexualized clothing/uniforms/costumes, or otherwise create a sexualized environment
Enforcement
If a participant engages in harassing behavior, the conference organizers may take any action they deem appropriate, including:
- A verbal or written warning
- Removal from a session or event space
- Revocation of conference credentials and expulsion from the conference (without refund)
- Involving venue security and/or local law enforcement where appropriate
Reporting: How to Get Help
If you are being harassed, notice that someone else is being harassed, or have any other concerns, please contact a member of conference staff immediately.
Conference staff can be identified by distinct staff badges.
Report options (choose what feels safest):
- In person: Any staff member or organizer (look for staff badges)
- Email: organizers@atx.dev
- Phone/SMS (during event hours): +1 (512) 422-9604
- Emergency: If you are in immediate danger, call 911 (or venue security)
Conference staff will be happy to help participants contact hotel/venue security or local law enforcement, provide escorts, or otherwise assist those experiencing harassment to feel safe for the duration of the conference. We value your attendance.
Confidentiality & Non-Retaliation
We will respect confidentiality to the extent we can while prioritizing safety and fulfilling any legal obligations. Retaliation against anyone who reports a concern or participates in an investigation is not tolerated.
Photography & Recording
- Respect "no photos/recording" requests.
- Do not photograph or record someone in a way that harasses, intimidates, or violates reasonable expectations of privacy.
- If staff asks you to stop recording or move away from a situation for safety reasons, you must comply.
Acknowledgement
We expect participants to follow these rules at conference and workshop venues and conference-related social events.
By attending ATX.DEV (in person or online), you agree to follow this Code of Conduct and cooperate with event staff if an issue arises.
